Pachacamac Orphanage March 2010 Update

MSC has partnered with Kids Alive to help build this new Children’s home. It’s exciting to see that they are starting to move into the new homes.

Over the last week the Lima Children’s Home has been slowly moving things over to the new Home in Pachacamac. Today though is the big move with perhaps 3-4 loads in a big truck…a lot of beds, mattresses, tables, chairs, dressers, clothes, etc…

The finish work is not quite done as we have not had as many teams as normal so far this year and the donations although generous have not been able to cover everything so the kids will unfortunately be moving into partially unfinished houses. It is not how we wanted it but the school year has started this week so we have to do it “as is”. So far the kids have pretty good attitudes about it and even the wee ones are helping take things out to the truck.

There will be a lot of changes for them…new home, new school, new church, for some new house moms, new neighbors, new sounds and smells (it is near a bull farm), dirt all around instead of grass (we need to do some serious landscaping!)…and other things we haven’t even thought of yet. Please be praying that the kids and staff adapt well, that the move goes well and that God’s peace and strength would be given to us all in this time of change.

God bless,
Mike & Diane Fietje
Director

Our Mission

Mitchell Swaback Charities was started October 15th, 2004. Our purpose is to continue to impact individuals, organizations and families as Mitch has done so many times. We want to continue Mitch's compassion to serve in missions, the church and to honor God in the way Mitch did on a daily basis. We will continue to form partnerships that will allow us to expand our ministry.

Through the many opportunities that surround us, we look forward to making a difference.

We will honor the Lord in all we do. Learn more >>

Mitch's Story

For 23 years our son Mitch etched memories into the hearts of everyone he met. He was as real as they come. What he meant to us and to so many others now belongs to the legacy we will cherish forever.

At Mitch's going-home service Pastor James MacDonald used one word that best described Mitch: "Maximum." Read more >>
