Living Water Well - April Update

"And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward.” - Jesus

Alan from Living Water International has sent us some initial thoughts and photos showing the conditions in Liberia that he has found:

"My partner (and interpreter), Amos (a friend from '05), asked some women gathered preparing food if they used water from a near-by source.  They said yes, but since they boil the rice, beans, or meat, boiling made it OK.  These sources were at the base of a steep cliff that had garbage dumps and out-houses at the tops.

As the photos show, bad water, garbage and sewage is everywhere.  When a latrine is filled with rain run-off, the "junk" runs out into the streets, into surface wells or soaks into the water table.  Every child you see in these photos lives in it, and drinks it.”

As you view these pictures, take a moment and look at each picture and really reflect on these things:

No clean water. No faucets. No sinks. No showers. No clothes washer, no dryer. Containers of all shapes and sizes, whatever will hold water. Moms that should be sending their children off to school not bringing them to the river banks.

No smiles, minimal hope.

You might even want to click on the pictures to download a larger version, print them out and let them serve as a daily reminder of how blessed we are and as a motivator to engage yourself personally with the water crisis.

By partnering with MSC you can be a difference maker in Liberia. Very soon these villagers will no longer have to wash in the dirty river and cook with contaminated water because they will have new well to draw clean fresh water from. Please consider being part of our first well in Liberia by investing your resources into something that will have a huge impact in the lives of so many!

Our Mission

Mitchell Swaback Charities was started October 15th, 2004. Our purpose is to continue to impact individuals, organizations and families as Mitch has done so many times. We want to continue Mitch's compassion to serve in missions, the church and to honor God in the way Mitch did on a daily basis. We will continue to form partnerships that will allow us to expand our ministry.

Through the many opportunities that surround us, we look forward to making a difference.

We will honor the Lord in all we do. Learn more >>

Mitch's Story

For 23 years our son Mitch etched memories into the hearts of everyone he met. He was as real as they come. What he meant to us and to so many others now belongs to the legacy we will cherish forever.

At Mitch's going-home service Pastor James MacDonald used one word that best described Mitch: "Maximum." Read more >>
