MSC Sponsored Food Bank Continues to Serve!
The Harvest Compassion Center continues to make an impact in the local community of North Phoenix and beyond. Since opening our doors last June the center has served approximately over 300 families. “Its’ been exciting to see the HCC really take off within the community, getting busier with every shift we’re open. Just last week we broke another record, 18 families in one day!” commented one volunteer.
God is truly using this center to His glory. Two times in the last few weeks we had large donations dropped off of items we don’t carry due to lack of space. We decided to let the large items sit out in the lobby and hopefully someone would walk in who could truly use them. God led the exact people he wanted to the HCC those mornings and all the items were given away to individuals who truly had a need for them.
Another blessing has been our anonymous donor who visits us about once a month and donates food items that we are low on. He doesn’t want us to know his name or how or where he heard of the HCC. He simply tells us that he’s blessed everyday and feels led to help the center.
These are just a few of the many examples of God’s perfect timing that is witnessed every week at the HCC. We could also go on and on about the countless stories of people being encouraged as they walk into the HCC for the first time.
The HCC is currently reaching out to the surrounding community schools and businesses to host food drives that will help keep our shelves filled. However, we still need your help; we simply do not have enough food to give out. Please consider making a donation that will go directly to purchase food for the HCC. If you would like to get involved with the HCC please contact Nicolee Thompson at nthompson@msfcares. and thank you to those who serve in the HCC weekly and continue to reach those who are struggling.
