2005 Mission Trip
September 16th through the 24th twelve individuals will be leaving various parts of the U.S. to go on a short term mission’s trip to Lima, Peru. Our main goal will be to help finish the Manchay Care Center. This Care Center includes: five classrooms for preschool age children, a large “homework club” building serving 100+ children with before and after school programs, two workshops designed to house work programs especially geared towards mothers, and a large dining room/meeting room.
We will also be visiting the site for the new orphanage in Pachacamac. The perimeter walls are complete and construction on the first of six houses will begin. The Mitchell Swaback Foundation has committed to build all six houses at a cost of $35,000 per house. Each house will be home for eight kids and two house parents. This week we sent $40,000 dollars enabling construction to begin on the first of six homes. Our goal is to raise another $170,000 with-in the next six months so construction can continue without interruption. My plea goes out to each individual to please help us fund this project so these kids can have a better place to live.
October’s email blast will show you first hand our work and experiences in Peru with a photo gallery capturing our day-to-day activities. You will be able to “see” what your dollars are doing for the kids in Peru! To make a donation please go to the donation page on the website and designate with that you would like your donation to go towards this project.
We also have received over 600 pounds of supplies that we will be taking to Peru for the orphanage. Thank you to everyone that has helped us prepare for this trip.
