Casa de Esperanza: July 2010 Update

Work has begun to ramp up at Case de Esperanza. We have experience many challenges working with an older building, however, are committed to make sure this job is done correctly to serve those in need for many years to come.

It was discovered that the main water line for the building actually came from the building next door. In order for the building to be brought up to code a new main water line had to be brought in from the street. This required another permit so it actually put us a few weeks behind.

Now that we have the new water line complete, the plumbing, heating, cooling and electric work has begun. The new front porch is almost complete making the front entrance much easier to use. We poured new concrete stairs to the basement where two stations of washers and dryers are located. We also had to make the decision to replace the existing concrete floor in the basement due to most of it being torn out by the plumber and having to add the new main water line.

As in all construction unforeseen hurdles are experienced every day, but with your help and many prayers plus diligent workers this project will be a success! If you would like to get more involved with Hope House please contact Brad Swaback at bswaback@msfcares.org.

Our Mission

Mitchell Swaback Charities was started October 15th, 2004. Our purpose is to continue to impact individuals, organizations and families as Mitch has done so many times. We want to continue Mitch's compassion to serve in missions, the church and to honor God in the way Mitch did on a daily basis. We will continue to form partnerships that will allow us to expand our ministry.

Through the many opportunities that surround us, we look forward to making a difference.

We will honor the Lord in all we do. Learn more >>

Mitch's Story

For 23 years our son Mitch etched memories into the hearts of everyone he met. He was as real as they come. What he meant to us and to so many others now belongs to the legacy we will cherish forever.

At Mitch's going-home service Pastor James MacDonald used one word that best described Mitch: "Maximum." Read more >>
