SPECIAL EDITION

Six Years in Heaven

As I wrote the title for this story it’s so hard to believe how quickly time passes. Six years ago August 14, 2004, at the age of 23 Mitch went home to be with the Lord.  Certain dates in our lives we remember so vividly I remember every minute of August 14th, 2004, this was the last day my son Mitch was here on earth.

As I think back so many times over the last six years I wish Mitch were here to see how his life is impacting so many.  Mitch got it!  He wouldn’t hesitate for a moment helping somebody in need.  Mitch truly had a heart to serve.  Mitch taught me how to truly serve those in need, how to get involved and how to impact lives through the love of Jesus Chris.  Over the last six years because of Mitch’s life countless individuals came together to form Mitchell Swaback Charities to carry on the passion that Mitch had to Make a Difference.  Let me encourage you today as a tribute to Mitch, to just get involved.  For a moment let’s not think about how busy our lives are and what needs to be done.  Let’s thank the Lord for what we have and how we can use our talents to bless others not just for today, but for the rest of our lives.  Our time here on earth is so very short let’s finish strong.  Check out II Timothy 4:7-8, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.  Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day.”  No doubt Mitch got his crown!  Remember Mitch is fine, he’s where he belongs and soon those who have the same relationship with Jesus Christ as Mitch had will see him again.

On behalf of Gaye, Nicolee, Paul, Alijah and Alexiah we cannot thank you enough for your prayers and your part in Mitchell Swaback Charities.

Together we will continue to Make a Difference.
