Wrap It Up! MSC Golf Outing 2010!

We're happy to announce another successful day of golf and fun-filled auctions while hosting our 6th Annual MSC Golf Outing Event! Yes, the rain held off and 80 golfers took the course under the gray skies while over a 100 more joined them for our silent and live auctions and dinner. Even though our numbers were slightly down, God provided and we almost matched what we raised last year! After a lively auction with an autographed picture of Chicago Blackhawks Patrick Kane being the ‘Hot Item,' our total earnings of both auctions were $45,000.00! 100% of this amount will go towards our projects! Each and every penny raised will go to help others! We also were able to announce this year's Torch Award winners for Harvest Christian Academy. Connor Kearns, a rising senior, and Lauryn Congemi, also a rising senior will receive the yearly scholarship for the 2010-2011 school year. Here's what both had to say about earning this honor:

"Winning the torch award means that the Lord is blessing my family and pouring his love out onto us, and that Mitchell Swaback Charities is furthering God's kingdom, yet again in many different ways. Also, that so much of my hard work (by the blessings and will of God) was put forward in a very constructive way to help my family and others around me," commented Connor Kearns.

"After being the winner of the Torch Award for 2010, I am not worthy to receive any kind of praise for winning because my God is the one who allowed me to win. He has blessed me with many leadership abilities and different ways to serve and without Him, I would not have been able to win the award. I do thank the Mitchell Swaback Charities a great deal for allowing me to win and for paying for my tuition. My gratitude towards them is so great and I do not think I will ever be able to express how thankful I am. Thank you so much to the Mitchell Swaback Charities and to Harvest Christian Academy and most importantly to our Heavenly Father above," replied Lauryn Congemi.

Ending our program, Bob Swaback was able to share briefly what MSC has been accomplishing this past year and also our biggest project that is now underway, Hope House, a safe haven for homeless and drug addicted women and their children. Pastor James MacDonald closed the event remembering some classic ‘Mitch' moments as well as his love for the Lord. Mitch's screen saver on his computer had the verse Psalm 31:3 "For you are my rock and my fortress; and for your name's sake you lead me and guide me." Pastor James mentioned this inspirational verse as motivation for all us to have a personal relationship with the Lord and also lend a hand and get involved in MSC. Our theme for the evening was built off of this verse as we strive to continue to BUILD relationships and projects one step at a time, making them solid as a ROCK. And for our efforts we auctioned off 30 "Mitchell Rocks" adding to our total raised.

We'd like to send out a special thank you to all of our volunteers and sponsors for all their help and prayers. Thank you to all who came out to support what we do as we commit to make a difference one life at a time!

Our Mission

Mitchell Swaback Charities was started October 15th, 2004. Our purpose is to continue to impact individuals, organizations and families as Mitch has done so many times. We want to continue Mitch's compassion to serve in missions, the church and to honor God in the way Mitch did on a daily basis. We will continue to form partnerships that will allow us to expand our ministry.

Through the many opportunities that surround us, we look forward to making a difference.

We will honor the Lord in all we do. Learn more >>

Mitch's Story

For 23 years our son Mitch etched memories into the hearts of everyone he met. He was as real as they come. What he meant to us and to so many others now belongs to the legacy we will cherish forever.

At Mitch's going-home service Pastor James MacDonald used one word that best described Mitch: "Maximum." Read more >>
