Fourth Annual Golf Outing Wrap Up
On June 16th at Rolling Green Country Club MSF successfully held its 4th Annual Golf Outing and Dinner. In total 88 golfers and an additional 93 individuals joined us in to participate in the silent/live auctions and dinner program. Each year we start out the day with a golf scramble that includes lunch and gifts. After golf the silent auction began with 200 items ranging from kids toys to sports memorabilia. At 6 pm Jeff Harbeck opened the program with a few words about Mitch and a short DVD that shared pictures of the many kids MSF helps in Peru. As dinner continued 24 live auction items were auctioned off. Bob Arosen was the auctioneer and entertained all of our guests.
Later, Bob Swaback spoke about the foundation and how it’s been three years since we started our first project at the Tabitha House at 550 West Pine Street in Chicago. Tabitha House is a woman’s shelter that MSF is completely renovating. Another important fact shared was in the last three years MSF has successfully completed projects totaling just under $1.8 million dollars. This number is quite a blessing to all of us at MSF! However, if we did not have the many individuals who partner with us and the support from many at this outing it would be impossible to impact the lives and organizations that we have.
Lastly, James MacDonald closed with a clear understanding of what salvation means and what each one of us needs to do to ensure our place in Heaven. James read from a book that he just finished entitled, Restore my Soul. He touched on a passage in chapter five where he wrote about the day of Mitch’s funeral and the faith that his mother has put in the Lord to get us through this very difficult time.
On behalf of MSF we cannot thank you enough for attending this year’s event and we look forward to seeing you next year. We also send out a warm thanks to all of our sponsors, donations, and volunteers who made this event a success!
