1. Tell us about yourself and your family?
My name is Jason Draper I am a high school Bible teacher/ interim pastor. I love music, sports and kids and love to study God’s Word as I am a motivated part-time student in seminary. Most importantly, I am the husband of a beautiful and talented wife named Jaimee and two amazing kids. My six year old son Jake is my best buddy in the world and my two year old daughter Jaylin melts my heart daily. Jaime and I have always loved to sing together in church laugh together with friends and family.
2. Have you ever done a half or full marathon before?
I have never run a half or full marathon before. I ran a 10 K about three years ago, but feel like I am starting over.
3. What are your biggest challenges for this race and what is your goal?
My biggest challenge will be to lose about 20 pounds in the training process. That’s what it will take for this body to make it. My goal is to run this race without walking. I am excited and motivated about the challenge.
4. How did you know Mitch?
Mitch was my cousin-in-law. I had a lot of time and fun with him. My very valued and special memories with Mitch have left me with the impression of a man who lived life to the fullest and loved his family, friends, and Lord. To call time with Mitch an adventure would be a gross understatement.
5. Why are you doing this race for MSF?
I loved Mitch, and I love his family. I believe in the cause that has been set up in Mitch’s memory through the foundation. I am excited about the reality of this athletic center and potential for amazing impact on youth. Oh, and Mitch would probably tell me to shed a few pounds.

October Update • Monday, October 01, 2007
1. What kind of impact has this race had in your life?
It has demonstrated what can be given to the Lord partnership with others and a little effort. It has also demonstrated to me for future care of my body that a 30 minute run isn’t relatively easy.
2. Would you or are you planning on running this distance again?
I would with a better plan of preparation now and a clearer vision of what is involved.
3. Lastly please write something to each of your sponsors, it can be a thank you, you can let them know we met our goal; share a verse, something from your heart.
I am so thankful for the support! I know God will use the money for MSF in great ways. The encouragement in the form of words and prayer went so far for me to finish this goal.
"So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others." Philippians 2:1-4
Thanks for all the encouragement and selfless support!

4. Athletes Journal:
With work at school, seminary, and my commitment to church…I feel overwhelmed at times. Yet I see my distance improving and, although erratic, I see God providing the time I need to get it done. I am reminded of words from Scripture I heard from Gaye Swaback at the time we lost Mitch… “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13).
